Come and knock at our door, we’ve been waiting for you… (obviously I’m an 80s kid)
I built this house in Brindleton Bay over on the coast because one of my main families didn’t have any close by neighbors in my family save. So I decided to make this Dutch Colonial Hamptons inspired home for another one of my families. I’ve always wanted to make a house like this and I think it’s lovely, so I expect to make even more in the future. It was also my first time creating a diagonal section! Yahhh me! Roofing was a pain, but I got through it. I wanted to make the inside very light and airy, choosing lighter wood floors as opposed to my favorite dark wood. There’s a lot of grays, blues, and a touch of yellow here and there throughout the home. It’s very beachy with seafaring decor throughout and some scuba gear stored in the garage. I did a little nursery, first time, I usually just stick to making a toddler room because babies in The Sims 4 leave much to be desired, but this nursery can easily be converted into a toddler space once the baby ages up (for me that would be 1-3 Sim days). I combined a lot of classic furniture along with contemporary, I thought this touch was especially nice in the twin themed bedroom. It can be for non-twins as well. There’s also a single child room for an animal lover. The master is an en suite, walk in closet and private balcony overlooking the backyard and woods. House was built on the 30×20 Hindquarter Hideaway in Brindleton Bay. Of course in the spirit of Cats & Dogs, I added items for both a cat and dog, so they should be pretty happy.
I especially love my little above the ground pool, reminds me of being a kid in the 80s. I do like pools in some of my builds, but not all. I can’t always justify having an in the ground pool for a home that is in a city w/ four seasons. In Oasis Springs, Sulani, Del Sol Valley, and Strangerville it makes sense. But if I do add a pool to a home in a city other than these, it’s usually for a bigger build and the family has money. However, since I came up with the idea to make an above the ground that looks like a portable one that the family takes out in the summer, I can justify putting it in more of my builds. I love the little freezer bunny decals I added to the pool.
Landscaping is my favorite thing to do when I build houses
I love the living room so much
I’m in love with the kitchen. I try to build all my kitchens, so they overlook the garden
Great dining room. The bar does function, your Sims can eat there.
Master. Lots of grays and blues
Single child bedroom
Double bed child room. I had a lot of fun decorating this room. I tried to give each child some privacy and space. I had to share w/ my older sister from age 2-7, it was not fun especially because she’s 4 years older
Sweet nursery. Here’s to hoping babies will updated and I can keep them that little for more than 2 Sim days.
I love the backyard so much.
I love this backyard so much
I have play-tested this build and I can’t wait to really start playing in it on a regular basis. There is absolutely no cc in this build. The driveway gate kinda hangs off the lot so hopefully it will download along with the lot. In any case it’s a debug item in case you wanted to know.
Main upstairs bath
Office in the master suite
Building this home this past week has helped with my anxiety so much. I hope your Sims love this home as much I loved building it. Happy Simming.
NO CC. Must have moveobjectson enabled before placing lot!
